A curated weekend getaway for Gaborone corporates and self drive explorers who need a break from the office. Designed around the Tsetseng Village Trust initiative inside Wildlife Management Area KW2.
This is the brain child of Kamananisa Munduu, who spent his Tirelo Sechaba days at Dutlwe Wildlife Camp in 1995 and 1996 when KW2 was being gazetted as a Wildlife Management Area. The Tsetseng entrance gate links KW2 to Qwee Pan, Xade, Piper Pan, Litiahau Valley, and onwards to Matswere or Tsau Gate, deep in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
Route: Gaborone, Kang, Tsetseng Gate, KW2 Tsalatswe Pan, KW2 Itswa Pan, KW2 Boritse Pan, Dutlwe, Takatokwane, Letlhakeng, Gaborone.
Packed light breakfast at first light. Drive out to Kang via Jwaneng. Refuel, buy ice, then 40 minutes to Tsetseng for overnight camping, with entrance and camping fees paid at the Trust office. Cultural dancing in the evening with the host village.
Road transit into KW2 to Tsalatswe Pan, around three hours. Camping overnight, with day and night time game viewing around the pan.
Onward into KW2 to Itswa Pan, around three hours. Camping overnight, with day and night time game viewing in the Itswa Pan area.
Game viewing through Boritse Pan and Dutlwe, around three hours. Optional onward extension, otherwise depart KW2 back to your home base. End of service.
